Terms of service

These terms cover buying from velashop.co. Placing an order means you accept them.

Who you're buying from

Prices and payment

All prices are in Egyptian pounds and include any applicable tax. We may change prices at any time, but never after you have placed an order. Payment is by card at checkout or in cash on delivery.

Orders

An order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we dispatch it. If something is out of stock, or a price is listed in error, we may decline the order and refund you in full — and we'll tell you why.

How products look and smell

We photograph our products as honestly as we can, but screens vary and glass catches light differently. Fragrance is personal, and the same scent reads differently in different rooms and to different people. That's why our returns policy lets you open a candle and smell it before you commit — as long as you haven't lit it, it can go back.

Burning your candle safely

You are responsible for using our products safely. Please:

• Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Keep it away from children, pets, curtains and anything that catches.
• Burn on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from draughts.
• Trim the wick to about 5mm before each burn.
• Burn for no more than four hours at a time.
• Stop when about 1cm of wax is left — don't burn it dry.
• The jar gets hot. Let it cool completely before moving it.

Reed diffusers

The oil stains. Keep it off wood, fabric and painted surfaces, stand the bottle on something you don't mind marking, and wash your hands after turning the reeds. Diffusers are flame-free and safe around children and pets, but the oil should not be swallowed.

The photographs, text, scent names and branding on this site belong to Vela. Please don't reuse them commercially without asking.

Where we stand on liability

We are responsible for our products being what we said they were. We are not responsible for damage caused by using them in a way these terms warn against. Nothing here limits liability that Egyptian law does not allow us to limit.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and disputes go to the Egyptian courts.
